The Cupertino council has unanimously approved Apple’s new corporate headquarters plans and will have one final vote to take place in November 2014. The late, great Steve Jobs first proposed this UFO-like design to the city council in mid-2011.

The headquarters will cover about 2.8 million square feet of land and will accommodate up to 14,000 people. boasting plenty of space for the architecture to be incorporated into the surrounding natural environment. It will also have room for a 600-seat restaurant, an auditorium for those infamous Keynote presentations, a fitness center, and a four-story parking garage. It is being designed by UK-based architecture firm Foster + Partners, in partnership with civil engineering firm Kier & Wright.
